Gordon Peters has over fifteen years of experience in strategy
consulting, investment analysis, and technology startups. He has
lived in Cambodia for 9 years, and worked across Southeast Asia
with significant experience in Myanmar, Thailand and Lao PDR.
Previously, he also managed technology startups in the US and India.
Gordon joined Mekong Strategic Partners (MSP) in 2016 to lead investments in clean energy and transactions in financial services. In addition to his role at MSP, Gordon is the Board Chairman of Lucky Iron Fish and Board Director of 17 Triggers, both late stage startup companies. He was also previously a Board Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia from 2012-2016.
Prior to joining Mekong Strategic Partners, Gordon was the Managing Director of Emerging Markets Consulting (EMC), the largest management consultancy in Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, and Singapore. As EMC’s Managing Director, Gordon was responsible for corporate strategy, business growth and operations in Southeast Asia.
He led EMC’s expansion into Myanmar in 2012, and helped deliver more than 30 projects in Myanmar. Gordon also fostered the development of EMC’s start-up business incubator, which worked with and took equity stakes in many fast growing start-up companies in Cambodia.
While at EMC, Gordon led and managed over 100 consulting projects, including a large number of market entry and investment analysis engagements for top multinationals and local businesses. Additionally, Gordon worked with leading development institutions like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, USAID, JICA, and the International Labour Organization.
Before EMC, Gordon led a number of technology start-up companies in India, Washington D.C. and San Francisco. Early in his career, he led the initial market expansion for Digital Divide Data, a social enterprise in Cambodia that operates in the business process outsourcing industry, now rated one of the top NGOs globally. Gordon started his career at the global strategy consultancy Bain & Company, working with blue chip companies to make strategic growth decisions. Gordon has a BA in Economics with distinction from the University of Virginia.
